A Soldiers Wish: A Home For His Best Friend

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. My girlfriend has two huge Great Danes Tank and Diesel(The Boys). When I say huge. I mean huge. I am 6' 2" and when standing next to me, they are at my waist. They weigh about 200 pounds each and have the equivalent of that in love to give.

Danes are one of the most loyal breeds that one can own. I was reading a book that said that their main goal is to please their owner. It also said that they are very protective yet gentle with children. Nothing could be truer.

This past weekend Gretchen(my girlfriend) had some of her childhood friends visit and they brought their son along for the trip. They have been friends since kindergarten and when they get together it's as if they are little girls again. That in itself is a blessing.

Austin is the cutest little boy ever. He already has so much personality. We're hoping he will be the new face for Baby Gap. The Boys were like little kids around Austin, especially Diesel. He loves children. They were like two peas in a pod. He was so patient with Austin. He would let him climb all over his back never making a fuss. Diesel was just happy to be playing.

Gretchen emailed me the following story. It has special meaning to her as you will see why when you get to the end. It's a bit of a tear jerker, but the message behind it definitely hits home.

Enjoy the following story. Be sure to tell the ones you love whether human or animal how much they mean to you on a daily basis. You never want to have regrets that you wish you had one more chance to say I love you.

Many Blessings, and ALWAYS FEEL GOOD!

They told me the big black Lab's name was Reggie
as I looked at him lying in his pen. the shelter was
clean, no-kill, and the people really friendly.
I'd only been in the area for six months, but everywhere
I went in the small college town, people were welcoming and
open. Everyone waves when you pass them on the
street.

But something was still missing as I attempted to
settle in to my new life here, and I thought a dog
couldn't hurt. Give me someone to talk to.
And I had just seen Reggie's advertisement on the local
news.. The shelter said they had received numerous
calls right after, but they said the people who had come
down to see him just didn't look like "Lab
people," whatever that meant. They must've
thought I did.

But at first, I thought the shelter had misjudged me
in giving me Reggie and his things, which consisted of a dog
pad, bag of toys almost all of which were brand new tennis
balls, his dishes, and a sealed letter from his previous
owner. See, Reggie and I didn't really hit it off
when we got home. We struggled for two weeks (which is
how long the shelter told me to give him to adjust to his
new home). Maybe it was the fact that I was trying to
adjust, too. Maybe we were too much alike.

For some reason, his stuff (except for the tennis
balls - he wouldn't go anywhere without two stuffed in
his mouth) got tossed in with all of my other unpacked
boxes. I guess I didn't really think he'd need
all his old stuff, that I'd get him new things once he
settled in. but it became pretty clear pretty soon
that he wasn't going to.

I tried the normal commands the shelter told me he
knew, ones like "sit" and "stay" and
"come" and "heel," and he'd follow
them - when he felt like it. He never really seemed to
listen when I called his name - sure, he'd look in my
direction after the fourth of fifth time I said it, but then
he'd just go back to doing whatever. When I'd
ask again, you could almost see him sigh and then grudgingly
obey.

This just wasn't going to work. He chewed a
couple shoes and some unpacked boxes. I was a little
too stern with him and he resented it, I could tell.
The friction got so bad that I couldn't wait for the two
weeks to be up, and when it was, I was in full-on search
mode for my cell phone amid all of my unpacked stuff. I
remembered leaving it on the stack of boxes for the guest
room, but I also mumbled, rather cynically, that the
"dog probably hid it on me."

Finally I found it, but before I could punch up the
shelter's number, I also found his pad and other toys
from the shelter.. I tossed the pad in Reggie's
direction and he snuffed it and wagged, some of the most
enthusiasm I'd seen since bringing him home. But
then I called, "Hey, Reggie, you like that? Come
here and I'll give you a treat." Instead, he
sort of glanced in my direction - maybe "glared"
is more accurate - and then gave a discontented sigh and
flopped down. With his back to me.

Well, that's not going to do it either, I
thought. And I punched the shelter phone number.

But I hung up when I saw the sealed envelope. I
had completely forgotten about that, too.. "Okay,
Reggie," I said out loud, "let's see if
your previous owner has any advice.".........

To
Whoever Gets My Dog:
Well, I can't say that I'm
happy you're reading this, a letter I told the shelter
could only be opened by Reggie's new owner.
I'm not even happy writing it. If you're
reading this, it means I just got back from my last car ride
with my Lab after dropping him off at the shelter. He
knew something was different. I have packed up his pad
and toys before and set them by the back door before a trip,
but this time... it's like he knew something was
wrong. And something is wrong... which is why I have
to go to try to make it right.

So let me tell you about my Lab in
the hopes that it will help you bond with him and he with
you.

First, he loves tennis balls.
the more the merrier. Sometimes I think he's part
squirrel, the way he hordes them. He usually always
has two in his mouth, and he tries to get a third in
there. Hasn't done it yet. Doesn't
matter where you throw them, he'll bound after it, so be
careful - really don't do it by any roads. I made
that mistake once, and it almost cost him
dearly.

Next, commands. Maybe the
shelter staff already told you, but I'll go over them
again: Reggie knows the obvious ones -
"sit," "stay," "come,"
"heel." He knows hand signals:
"back" to turn around and go back when you put
your hand straight up; and "over" if you put your
hand out right or left. "Shake" for shaking
water off, and "paw" for a high-five. He
does "down" when he feels like lying down - I bet
you could work on that with him some more. He knows
"ball" and "food" and "bone"
and "treat" like nobody's
business.

I trained Reggie with small food
treats. Nothing opens his ears like little pieces of
hot dog.

Feeding schedule: twice a
day, once about seven in the morning, and again at six in
the evening. Regular store-bought stuff; the shelter
has the brand.

He's up on his shots.
Call the clinic on 9th Street and update his info with
yours; they'll make sure to send you reminders for when
he's due. Be forewarned: Reggie hates the
vet. Good luck getting him in the car - I don't
know how he knows when it's time to go to the vet, but
he knows.

Finally, give him some time.
I've never been married, so it's only been Reggie
and me for his whole life. He's gone everywhere
with me, so please include him on your daily car rides if
you can. He sits well in the backseat, and he
doesn't bark or complain. He just loves to be
around people, and me most especially.

Which means that this transition is
going to be hard, with him going to live with someone
new.

And that's why I need to share
one more bit of info with you.....

His name's not
Reggie.

I don't know what made me do
it, but when I dropped him off at the shelter, I told them
his name was Reggie. He's a smart dog, he'll
get used to it and will respond to it, of that I have no
doubt. but I just couldn't bear to give them his
real name. For me to do that, it seemed so final, that
handing him over to the shelter was as good as me admitting
that I'd never see him again. And if I end up
coming back, getting him, and tearing up this letter, it
means everything's fine. But if someone else is
reading it, well... well it means that his new owner should
know his real name. It'll help you bond with
him. Who knows, maybe you'll even notice a change
in his demeanor if he's been giving you
problems.

His real name is Tank.

Because that is what I
drive.

Again, if you're reading this
and you're from the area, maybe my name has been on the
news. I told the shelter that they couldn't make
"Reggie" available for adoption until they
received word from my company commander. See, my
parents are gone, I have no siblings, no one I could've
left Tank with... and it was my only real request of the
Army upon my deployment to Iraq , that they make one phone
call the shelter... in the "event"... to tell
them that Tank could be put up for adoption. Luckily,
my colonel is a dog guy, too, and he knew where my platoon
was headed. He said he'd do it
personally. And if you're reading this, then
he made good on his word.

Well, this letter is getting to
downright depressing, even though, frankly, I'm just
writing it for my dog. I couldn't imagine if I was
writing it for a wife and kids and family. but still,
Tank has been my family for the last six years, almost as
long as the Army has been my family.

And now I hope and pray that you
make him part of your family and that he will adjust and
come to love you the same way he loved me.

That unconditional love from a dog
is what I took with me to Iraq as an inspiration to do
something selfless, to protect innocent people from those
who would do terrible things... and to keep those terrible
people from coming over here. If I had to give up Tank
in order to do it, I am glad to have done so. He was
my example of service and of love. I hope I honored
him by my service to my country and comrades.

All right, that's enough.
I deploy this evening and have to drop this letter off at
the shelter. I don't think I'll say another
good-bye to Tank, though. I cried too much the first
time. Maybe I'll peek in on him and see if he
finally got that third tennis ball in his
mouth.

Good luck with Tank. Give him
a good home, and give him an extra kiss goodnight - every
night - from me.

Thank you, Paul
Mallory

________

I folded
the letter and slipped it back in the envelope. Sure I
had heard of Paul Mallory, everyone in town knew him, even
new people like me. Local kid, killed in Iraq a few
months ago and posthumously earning the Silver Star when he
gave his life to save three buddies. Flags had been at
half-mast all summer.

I leaned forward in my chair and rested my elbows on
my knees, staring at the dog.

"Hey, Tank," I said quietly.

The dog's head whipped up, his ears cocked and his
eyes bright.

"C'mere boy."

He was instantly on his feet, his nails clicking on
the hardwood floor. He sat in front of me, his head
tilted, searching for the name he hadn't heard in
months.

"Tank," I whispered.

His tail swished.

I kept whispering his name, over and over, and each
time, his ears lowered, his eyes softened, and his posture
relaxed as a wave of contentment just seemed to flood
him. I stroked his ears, rubbed his shoulders, buried
my face into his scruff and hugged him.

"It's me now, Tank, just you and me.
Your old pal gave you to me." Tank reached up and
licked my cheek. "So whatdaya say we play some
ball? His ears perked again.
"Yeah? Ball? You like that?
Ball?" Tank tore from my hands and
disappeared in the next room.

And when he came back, he had three tennis balls

I'm So Happy And Grateful Now That...Redefining The Dream

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends. I just wanted to share a short video with you on this day of gratefulness. It was introduced to me by Richard Furlong. I am grateful for Richard and positive attitude he brings to life.

The following is one of my favorite quotes, "The Power Of Attitude". It is a quote that reminds us that a positive attitude leads to amazing things.

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst...A spark that creates extraordinary results.

On this day of Thanksgiving we can substitute the word "gratitude" in place of "attitude" and it is just as powerful.

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings us, but by the gratitude we bring to life. Unconditional gratitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. Gratitude is a catalyst...A spark that creates extraordinary things.

We need to be grateful in all things. The good and the bad. I was talking with my mother about this prior to writing this and she reminded me of the importance of being grateful for anything and everything that happens to us. This may seem hard when situations appear to be negative, but we never know what the end result will be.

We are quick to be thankful for the good things in life but reject the negative. Many times situations that may seem negative are the ones that lead us to what we are truly wanting. Being grateful for hardships can also be a chain reaction to positive thoughts, events, and outcomes.

By remaining thankful, another door will surely be opened. Dwelling on the negative leads to confusion and indecision because we are not focused on our goals. In this state, all you can see are the obstacles standing in the way. Change your attitude to one of gratitude and you will begin to see extraordinary results and a clear path towards your aspirations.

Make everyday one gratitude. When you wake up in the morning, let your thoughts be, "I'm so happy and grateful now that..." and take it from there. Be happy and grateful for all things and be ready for an amazing existence.

Again, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Thanks for listening and many blessings!

Everyone Is God Speaking - Be Polite And Listen

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. I've been re-reading Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao by Dr. Wayne Dyer. The Tao Te Ching was written by Lao tzu some 2500 years ago. It is a guide to success in life presented in 81 powerful verses. In this book, Dr. Dyer writes an essay on each verse, with his take on its meaning.

I am reading one verse a day and focusing on that particular message for the entire day. That's why I have not been posting as much as usual. I decided to take some time to focus on some areas in my life and attitude that may need changing. After delving into the book, I realized that there is much room for improvement.

I wanted to share the 7th verse of the Tao Te Ching which Dr. Dyer named "Living Beyond Ego". It's one of my favorites because it reminds us of the fact that we are all connected despite how individualistic we have become.

Heaven is eternal-the earth endures.
Why do heaven and earth last forever?
They do not live for themselves only.
This is the secret of their durability.

For this reason the sage puts himself last
and so ends up ahead.
He stays a witness to life,
so he endures.

Serve the needs of others,
and all your own needs will be fulfilled.
Through selfless action, fulfillment is attained.

Lao-tzu urges us to work towards the good of the whole. When we do this, it is not work at all, but rather a free flow of positive energy emanating from everyone. Nature doesn't work against itself. Everything in nature is working in perfect unison and cohesion.

You will never find a bee that feels it is more special than another bee. If you look at an ant hill, all the ants are moving for one purpose. A flower doesn't look upon another flower and feel that it is prettier. No one thing in nature feels entitled.

As humans we allow our egos to cloud our outlook on life with unnecessary worries and distractions. We cling to "things" as status symbols. The watch that we wear or the car we drive define us rather than what is inside. This way of thinking can lead to disaster.

When you define yourself by the "stuff" that you have, you will constantly be chasing for more in order to keep your status high. You also begin to forget about other people if they don't meet your need for status. You may look past the homeless person in need because you can't afford to be seen in their company. Your friends might see you and you don't want them to think bad of you.

It's this idea of feeling special that leads to problems. The fact is, we are all special. VERY special. But none more so than another. We are all equally special. We emanate from the Source. From the One. From God. We are all extensions of something perfect.

God is in everyone and everything. If we could just remember this on a daily basis, life on earth would be so much easier. Instead of everyone looking out for #1, everyone would be helping each other. There is more than enough for everyone with no need to hoard any of earths resources.

Try to see yourself in everyone that you meet. When you do this you will be compelled to be a more compassionate. Understanding that we are all connected will prompt you to help those in need. When we help others we are strengthening the whole. When the whole is in agreement, nothing is impossible.

This poem by Hafiz the Sufi poet sums it up perfectly.

Everyone
Is God speaking.
Why not be polite and
Listen to
Him?

Everyone means everyone. When we keep this in mind, we become much more respectful of the people that we encounter each day. The Source is in each of us. Take the time to listen and enjoy what it has provided for all of us. Have a great day and many blessings!

TAKE A LESSON FROM NATURE!!!

Love Yourself Unconditionally

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Here are some great quotes about love to think about today. Love is all we need. Love encompasses everything. The most important love, is love for yourself.

Myspace Backgrounds - Love Sign in Sand

It is very hard to show love outwardly if you don't have the same feelings on the inside. The first step to realizing love is have and unconditional love for yourself. This means not judging yourself to harshly. A lot of times we are our own worst critics. If we do something wrong or make a mistake, we are quick to beat ourselves up.

Take it easy on yourself. In this existence, mistakes will be made. That's what makes us stronger to face new challenges. By overcoming certain obstacles we are equipping ourselves for the what may come next. But is you beat yourself every time something goes wrong, you will probably be hesitant to try again because of the fear of failure.

Once you begin to love yourself, the world will begin to show you love. Remember that what is happening around you, is a reflection of what is happening within. So if their is inner turmoil, the same will be manifested into your reality.

Myspace Comments - Youll Always Be Special

Here are some great quotes about love. Take a few with you throughout your day. Remember to show a little love to your fellow man. More importantly, be sure to show yourself some love as well. If you can't love yourself...who else can? Have a great day, and thanks for listening. Blessings!

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things.

Paul (A.D. First Century) 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

A Little Help From Our Friends

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Yesterday I was visiting my friends Myspace profiles as I do from time to time. Paulo Coelho, author of The Alchemist is on my friends list. He is one of my favorite authors and I visit his blog regularly.

Currently he has "A Little Help From Our Friends" performed by Joe Crocker as his profile song. I know it as the theme song to the early 90's television show The Wonder Years. Some of you may recognize his famous Woodstock performance. I've always liked this song and the message behind it is powerful.

Emma hugging Maki
GIVE SOMEONE A HUG TODAY!!!

I'm thankful for the friends that I have and for the ones I make on a daily basis. I think it is so much better to make friends than enemies. One of my favorite quotes is..."Every time you make a friend, you destroy an enemy."To me it is easier and less stressful to manage friends than enemies.

Your friends are the people you can count on when you need help. They are there to remind you how to laugh. When you need a shoulder to cry on. True friends understand when to talk and when to be silent and just listen. A true friend doesn't criticize you or your actions. They accept you for who you are and love you in spite of it.

Be the type of friend that you want to have. Surround yourself with positive and happy people. Life is not always perfect, but if you associate with positive people, getting through those tough times will be a little easier.

The following is the Woodstock performance by Joe Crocker. He's a little quirky. Kind of all over the place, but simply listen to words of the song. All we need is a little help from our friends. If each of us determine in our hearts to be that helpful friend, the world will be a much better place. So as you go through your day tell your friends that you love them and are thankful for them. You will see that your day will be much brighter and exciting.

Enjoy the video. I'm here to help you anyway you can. Have a great day and thanks for listening. Many blessings!

Children Speak Out About Human Rights

Hello Friends,

Bloggers Unite Hope all is well. Today bloggers all over the world are blogging for one purpose. Human Rights. I am especially interested the basic rights for children. As the song says, "they are our future."

The following are some great videos presented by youthforhumanrights.org. We need to take on the mindset of a child. They have not formed too many concrete opinions. Everything is new and fresh to them. It is this innocence that makes them precious. They are only living for the moment.

Children deserve the right to be able to express themselves. They need the freedom to create. They need the freedom to just play. As adults we need to take responsibility for our actions. We need to be careful with the policies and laws that are being passed that threaten our basic civil liberties. The choices that we make will effect the younger generations the most after we are long and gone.

Allow children to just be. Allow them to use the minds and their thoughts. Don't stifle a child when he or she wants to share with you. That instant could be the catalyst for something big. If you don't listen, that child may never have the confidence to say anything again. Be like a child. Rediscover your innocence. Stop trying to make sense of everything and just...BE.

Enjoy these short videos. There are tones of them, but these were a few of my favorites. Everyday should be Human Rights Day. Make it your aim to do what you can to preserve the basic human rights of us all. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

My 3 Favorite Quotes

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well.
Ok, lay it on us...what is the best quote ever in your book...or is it somewhere on your blog already?

This was a question I was asked a few days ago from my friends at the Earth & Economy blog. This is a blog in which they "Find, Review, and Share Green Content." They have tons of excellent information pertaining to living a green lifestyle. The following is the categories that they cover on there blog. When you click on these tabs you are treated to a ton of articles on that particular subject.
Building, Business, Directories, Education, Energy, Jobs, Law, Living, Media, Organizations, Politics, Products, Resources, Science, Technology, Travel. Be sure to visit them for all things green.

So back to the question. First of all. I have not written a book(yet). I hope I didn't say that I did somewhere. I am still growing. I'm more into reading books at this point. Maybe the inspiration for a book will hit me one day.

So what is my best quote...? I have three that I say to myself daily and really try adhere to. These three quotes keep me grounded throughout my day to day activities.

Quote #1
Focus on what you want, rather than what you don't want.

The reason many of us don't get what we want out of life is because focus we on what we don't want in life. A lot of say, "I don't want to be broke." "I don't want to be sick." "I don't want to be in this horrible relationship anymore." These words and thoughts have very strong negative emotions attached to them.

The Universe gives you what you thinking and feeling about the most. It may seem like you're are doing the right thing by saying that you don't want something, but the Universe will simply give you more of what you don't want because that is where your focus is. If you focus on the mounting bills, the poor health, or unhealthy relationship, this is what you will get more of.

Start to focus on what you do want. Change your words and thoughts to "I want to live abundantly." I want to live a healthy lifestyle." I want to be in a loving relationship with a partner who accepts me for who I am." Put all your energy and emotions into this way of thinking. You will begin to see how the Universe will begin to place situations in front of you that will be alignment with what you are wanting.

Be sure to act when these opportunities arise. If you get a million dollar idea, that's the Universe working in your favor. Act immediately. Many times we get paralyzed or scared when the opportunity presents itself. Don't hinder what the Universe wants you to have.

Quote #2
The Power Of Attitude.

"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens. Not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thought, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst...A spark that creates extraordinary results."

I found this quote in an airplane magazine. I always try to keep a positive attitude. When you have a positive attitude, positive things happen to you. We are all going have trials and setbacks. That's just life. The true measure of our character is how we react to what happens to us. When negativity arises in your life squash it immediately. How do you that? Go back to the first quote and focus on what you want.

People will notice something different about you when you take a positive attitude. They will notice that you dictate what you want out of life instead of just letting life beat you down. People will want to be around you. They will feel comfortable around you. You will still get those people that will try to bring you down, but if you stay positive and true to yourself and your goals, amazing things will happen. Be ready to ride the wave of positive momentum.

Quote #3
"We must become the change we want to see in the world." Gandhi

This quote is very important to the times in which we are living. Gandhi advises us to change ourselves before we try to change the world. Gandhi understood that we create our reality through our thoughts. Whatever is happening on the inside is what will be projected in the physical world.

We have so many wars going on right now. The war against drugs. The war against crime. The war against terrorism. All of these wars are being lost because the focus is on war. War begets more war. In the movie "The Secret", it was mentioned how Mother Theresa refused to go to any anti- war rallies. "Show me a peace rally and I'll be the first one there." Mother Theresa knew that the "more you resist something, the more it persist."

We must change our thought to that of peace, love, and compassion. That is the only way to bring about peace in the world. There has to be a collective rise of positive consciousness. Start by being courteous to your neighbors, coworkers, and people that you meet in the street. I always get a kick out of the reactions of some people when I say hi or give them a compliment. They sometimes don't know how to react to niceness. It's almost like they are surprised.

So those are the three quotes that I try to live by everyday. As a bonus I'll give you one that I recently added to my daily reminder.

Bonus Quote
"Thank you for the gift of abundance!"

I say this to myself constantly. I say it if I find a penny on the ground. It is only a penny, but it a reminder to be thankful for what I already have and what is on the way. I say this not only for money but for all aspects of my life. Abundance can come financially, through good health, positive relationships, ideas, love, compassion, thoughtfulness, creativity, confidence, etc...It's easy to see how much abundance is really around us which takes us back to the first quote. Be thankful and focus on the abundance that you already have and the Universe will give you more to be thankful for.

Have fun with life and stay focused. Many blessings!

Visiting Family For Easter

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Happy Easter, or as my family likes to say...Happy Resurrection Day. I'm in Cincinnati Ohio visiting them this weekend. I'm absolutely freezing. I've lived in Miami Florida for the past ten years and I guess my blood has thinned out a little bit.

It's always good to go home to visit family. There's something about home cooking and reminiscing about past events that leaves me feeling good. I don't get to visit as much as I would like to because of my work so whenever I do I try to make the best of it.

Family is very important. They are the ones that love you the most and at times drive you the craziest. They keep us on our toes. Cherish any opportunity to spend time with family. If your family is near by don't become desensitized by their close proximity. Still make an effort to stop by. If you can't get home that often, make the most of every moment you do get. If you don't have any family, make it your intention to find friends you can call family.

Everyone needs at least one person that they can run to if you just need to talk. Someone to lean on in times of need. Someone to find encouragement from when you need a shot of confidence.

Love your family. Love your friends. Love your enemies. Love transcends all situations. Remember this and life will be so much more enjoyable. You deserve to enjoy life. Let it happen.

Some Of My New Friends

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Today seems like a good day to give out some link love. I made some new friends over the weekend via the Blogcatalog. If you are a blogger, this is a good place to meet some talented people with great blogs.

The first person I would like to introduce is Sandpiper 727. The blog Sandpiper's Place has some of the best photographs of nature. As I was browsing through the pictures I could feel my whole body relaxing.

In EckHart Tolle's book A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose (Oprah's Book Club, Selection 61) he encourages the reader to look at the beauty of a flower or a bird. He tells us to be like nature. Nature doesn't struggle to exist. You will never see a grass trying to go back into the dirt. It wants to grow and just simply does.

Humans are the only species that resists that natural laws of nature. Why do we make it so hared on ourselves? I am thankful for people like Sandpiper 727 who reminds us of the good that is right in front of our faces.

My next friend is Marcueto. I was browsing around and I came across The Fearless Blog. It was the title that got me. What a great theme for a blog. Marcueto wants us to be fearless in our endeavors. Her posts are a constant form of encouragement to move forward.

Being fearless is living in the moment. The Now. Most people become fearful because they are living either in the past of the future. Living in the past makes you handle decisions based on past events. If these past events were unfavorable, we tend to go the secure route out of fear of failing again.

When we live in the future, we tend to have built up anxiety for what is to come. The unknown makes us nervous and again rely on past events to make our decisions. Usually the safe decision. I'm finding out that in order to be successful we have to be fearless. That means living for the moment. Making decisions and standing by them. Having the wisdom to see when the decision may not have been the right one, but learning from that mistake to move forward. We will all fail from time to time. But it is these failures that fuel the huge victories that await us if we are persistant and Fearless.

The last friend I want to introduce you to is Tammy Burks. She is a rug-hooker with an excellent blog called Skip To My Ewe.
Last week I started to notice that I was getting visitors form her blog to my Articles of Intent blog. When I went to her blog I was greeted with the most beautiful array of colors. I noticed that she had put me as one her blogs she likes to visit. I was touched.

Her art work is unbelievable. It is amazing what can done with a simple string of yarn. This reminds me that beauty can come out of anything. If you have the imagination, you can create whatever you want. One string of yarn isn't anything on it's own. But when it is joined together in such a way, the creation process begins.

In her entry Huge Appetite she talks about how she keeps everything in her circle positive. This is a good lesson to learn. If we constantly surround ourselves with positive people and positive situations, it is hard for negativity to move in. It will try but you will be in such a state in which negativity cannot survive. Thanks for the reminder Tammy.

Many blessings to my new friends and to all of you that I will have the pleasure of meeting soon. Try to make a new friend today. Abraham Lincoln said, "Every time you make a friend, you destroy an enemy." Keep this in mind and soon we will be able to take the word enemy out of the dictionary as it will no longer exist. What a world that would be.

Do We Really Have To Pay A Federal Income Tax? Apparently Not

Hello friends,

Hope all is well. This video is part 1 in a series of 11. Take the time to view all 11 clips at Youtube. I encourage each of you to begin to look within yourselves for the truth. It is not the truth that the media and the government is feeding us. It's the truth "that pases all understanding." Another words, as soon as we stop trying to figure out what this existence all means and just sit in stillness for just a moment...........The truth will begin to emerge.

It is the truth that we are all connected stemming from one Source. We must unite as a global community. Not with anger, fear, or feelings of betrayal. But rather with compassion and forgiveness.

Violence begets violence. Greed begets more greed. Hatred breeds more of the same. On the other side, Love brings forth more to be loving for. Compassion promotes healing. Forgiveness encourages growth.

This optimistic view may seem unattainable. A dream even. But if enough people around the world would just make peace their primary focus, a change would begin to take place. If more people would just focus on prosperity for their neighbor, change would happen. We have a very strong "it's mine" mentality, and the government along with a few wealthy men are displaying this on a grand scale. This has to change.

Find love in yourself and then begin to spread it to other. Gandhi said, "We must become the change we want to see in the world." Heal yourself first and your reality will begin to shift towards the positive. Many blessings to you all. It is truly a pleasure and honor for me to be able to call you a friend.

A Little Puppy Luv For Valentine's Day

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Happy Valentine's Day!!! My girlfriend would say that there is no better love than Puppy Luv. I agree with her. There is nothing better than those first few weeks of a new relationship. The wonder. The anticipation. The newness. The innocence.

I encourage you to remember those times. As relationships go on, they can tend to get a little stale if you don't keep it fresh. Embrace the ones you love as if you were still in the puppy love stage. Live every moment in the NOW and you will notice that your relationships will be in a constant state of renewal. Of newness.

Again I say Happy Valentine's Day. Many blessings to you and yours. And as always thanks for listening.
