Make Change A Good Thing

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. During the recent election Barack Obama's platform was CHANGE. Obama felt that it was time for a change for the American people. While there is a need for change for the America as a whole, I feel it is equally important for individuals to personally change as we head into a new era.

One of my business partners has a quote that she likes to use to motivate others.
"Do just ONE thing different and it will change everything."
It is a reminder that all we need is a simple shift in thinking. Albert Einstein said,
"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."
Change is good. Change is inevitable. It is our job to identify these changes and then adapt accordingly. Don't get down if it seems as though the world around you is moving at a different pace. Don't wait for circumstances to change. Change the circumstances.

We are meant to be proactive in this existence on planet earth. We can choose to ride the wave and go with the flow. In this state, we are aligned with the Universe and everything moves easily into our lives. We can also choose to do nothing and get swept away by the waves. This causes us to feel as though we are being tossed around in every direction with no hope for the future.

I encourage all of us to look at ourselves as we move into this new era. Don't look for the new administration as a source of happiness. Happiness can't come from these external forces. Happiness can only come from within. When we begin to change the way we perceive our existence, then happiness and contentment can be had.

The following are some great quotes concerning change. Read them. Embrace them. Live them. Get excited for all the wonderful things that are already in your life and for the things that are on its way. Change is on the way. But that is no longer a problem. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

Abraham Lincoln:
The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.

Alan Cohen:
It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Aldous Huxley:
There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self.

Alfred North Whitehead:
The art of progress is to preserve order amid change and to preserve change amid order.

Anais Nin:
Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.

Andy Warhol:
They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.

Anne Frank:
How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.

Anne Frank:
Then, without realizing it, you try to improve yourself at the start of each new day; of course, you achieve quite a lot in the course of time. Anyone can do this, it costs nothing and is certainly very helpful. Whoever doesn't know it must learn and find by experience that a quiet conscience makes one strong.

Anthony J. D'Angelo:
Become a student of change. It is the only thing that will remain constant.

Henri Bergson:
To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.
