I'm So Happy And Grateful Now That...Redefining The Dream

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends. I just wanted to share a short video with you on this day of gratefulness. It was introduced to me by Richard Furlong. I am grateful for Richard and positive attitude he brings to life.

The following is one of my favorite quotes, "The Power Of Attitude". It is a quote that reminds us that a positive attitude leads to amazing things.

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst...A spark that creates extraordinary results.

On this day of Thanksgiving we can substitute the word "gratitude" in place of "attitude" and it is just as powerful.

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings us, but by the gratitude we bring to life. Unconditional gratitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. Gratitude is a catalyst...A spark that creates extraordinary things.

We need to be grateful in all things. The good and the bad. I was talking with my mother about this prior to writing this and she reminded me of the importance of being grateful for anything and everything that happens to us. This may seem hard when situations appear to be negative, but we never know what the end result will be.

We are quick to be thankful for the good things in life but reject the negative. Many times situations that may seem negative are the ones that lead us to what we are truly wanting. Being grateful for hardships can also be a chain reaction to positive thoughts, events, and outcomes.

By remaining thankful, another door will surely be opened. Dwelling on the negative leads to confusion and indecision because we are not focused on our goals. In this state, all you can see are the obstacles standing in the way. Change your attitude to one of gratitude and you will begin to see extraordinary results and a clear path towards your aspirations.

Make everyday one gratitude. When you wake up in the morning, let your thoughts be, "I'm so happy and grateful now that..." and take it from there. Be happy and grateful for all things and be ready for an amazing existence.

Again, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Thanks for listening and many blessings!

Make Change A Good Thing

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. During the recent election Barack Obama's platform was CHANGE. Obama felt that it was time for a change for the American people. While there is a need for change for the America as a whole, I feel it is equally important for individuals to personally change as we head into a new era.

One of my business partners has a quote that she likes to use to motivate others.
"Do just ONE thing different and it will change everything."
It is a reminder that all we need is a simple shift in thinking. Albert Einstein said,
"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."
Change is good. Change is inevitable. It is our job to identify these changes and then adapt accordingly. Don't get down if it seems as though the world around you is moving at a different pace. Don't wait for circumstances to change. Change the circumstances.

We are meant to be proactive in this existence on planet earth. We can choose to ride the wave and go with the flow. In this state, we are aligned with the Universe and everything moves easily into our lives. We can also choose to do nothing and get swept away by the waves. This causes us to feel as though we are being tossed around in every direction with no hope for the future.

I encourage all of us to look at ourselves as we move into this new era. Don't look for the new administration as a source of happiness. Happiness can't come from these external forces. Happiness can only come from within. When we begin to change the way we perceive our existence, then happiness and contentment can be had.

The following are some great quotes concerning change. Read them. Embrace them. Live them. Get excited for all the wonderful things that are already in your life and for the things that are on its way. Change is on the way. But that is no longer a problem. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

Abraham Lincoln:
The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.

Alan Cohen:
It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

Aldous Huxley:
There's only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self.

Alfred North Whitehead:
The art of progress is to preserve order amid change and to preserve change amid order.

Anais Nin:
Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.

Andy Warhol:
They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.

Anne Frank:
How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.

Anne Frank:
Then, without realizing it, you try to improve yourself at the start of each new day; of course, you achieve quite a lot in the course of time. Anyone can do this, it costs nothing and is certainly very helpful. Whoever doesn't know it must learn and find by experience that a quiet conscience makes one strong.

Anthony J. D'Angelo:
Become a student of change. It is the only thing that will remain constant.

Henri Bergson:
To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.

What Kind Of House Are You Building?

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. This is a great short story to remind us to be mindful of how we structure our lives. We are the architects of our existence. The Universe has blessed with the amazing ability to create our existence with our thoughts.

It is important however to be aware of what thoughts we are sending out to the Universe. Every thought is a piece of the house that we are building for ourselves. So we must ask ourselves, "what kind of house do I want to live in."
ONR MOW section lunch/tool house
Shaquille O'Neal's Miami mansion

When we realize that the choices we make determine the life that we have, we will begin to make better decisions. We will strive to make life better for ourselves and for our fellow man. In everything you do, do it to the best of your abilities. You never know what and who you may affect.

Enjoy this short story. Remember to put forth you best effort every step of the way. You are a awesome person with an infinite amount of potential. Don't sell yourself short. You deserve the best. Many blessings and thanks for listening.

Building Your House

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business to live a more leisurely life with his wife and enjoy his extended family. He would miss the paycheck each week, but he wanted to retire. They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go & asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but over time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.

When the carpenter finished his work, his employer came to inspect the house. Then he handed the front-door key to the carpenter and said, "This is your house... my gift to you."

The carpenter was shocked!

What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.

So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into the building. Then, with a shock, we realize we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over, we would do it much differently.

But, you cannot go back. You are the carpenter, and every day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Someone once said, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your attitude, and the choices you make today, help build the "house" you will live in tomorrow. Therefore, Build wisely!

Blog Action Day - Poverty (How Will You Make A Difference)

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Today is Blog Action Day. The focus this year is on poverty. Poverty is something that is experienced in every culture in the world. But why is this? One of my favorite quotes that I remind myself of every day is, "There's more than enough for everyone".

The Universe has provided us with everything that we could ever need for our existence on this planet. There should be no poverty. The key is to remember that we are all connected. We all stem from the Source that has always been and will always be. Since this is so, there is no lack for anything.

There are many cases in which people cannot work for themselves because of circumstances beyond their control, such as injury or disabilities. These people have it tougher and may fall victim to poverty. But even in theses cases it shouldn't be so.

We as a global community need to look out for each other. I am you and you are me. Because of this, every time you help someone, you are strengthening the whole. If you see someone in need, help them out. Find a charity that you can volunteer for. There are so many ways in which we can help out our fellow man. A simple smile can change someone's outlook on life and give them the will to live or find a way to better themselves.

Today is Blog Action Day, but this should be something that we observe everyday. Let it become a part of who you are. Practice helping at least on person a day. Anything, no matter how small, will make a difference.

We stem from an all perfect Source, so for every situation, there is a perfect solution. Be still and let the Universe speak to you. It will tell you how you can help the masses.

Have a great day exploring ways in which to reach out to your fellow man. Be creative. I guarantee that you will improve the life of others and yours by being a caring and giving person. Thanks for listening, and many blessings!

Everyone Is God Speaking - Be Polite And Listen

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. I've been re-reading Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao by Dr. Wayne Dyer. The Tao Te Ching was written by Lao tzu some 2500 years ago. It is a guide to success in life presented in 81 powerful verses. In this book, Dr. Dyer writes an essay on each verse, with his take on its meaning.

I am reading one verse a day and focusing on that particular message for the entire day. That's why I have not been posting as much as usual. I decided to take some time to focus on some areas in my life and attitude that may need changing. After delving into the book, I realized that there is much room for improvement.

I wanted to share the 7th verse of the Tao Te Ching which Dr. Dyer named "Living Beyond Ego". It's one of my favorites because it reminds us of the fact that we are all connected despite how individualistic we have become.

Heaven is eternal-the earth endures.
Why do heaven and earth last forever?
They do not live for themselves only.
This is the secret of their durability.

For this reason the sage puts himself last
and so ends up ahead.
He stays a witness to life,
so he endures.

Serve the needs of others,
and all your own needs will be fulfilled.
Through selfless action, fulfillment is attained.

Lao-tzu urges us to work towards the good of the whole. When we do this, it is not work at all, but rather a free flow of positive energy emanating from everyone. Nature doesn't work against itself. Everything in nature is working in perfect unison and cohesion.

You will never find a bee that feels it is more special than another bee. If you look at an ant hill, all the ants are moving for one purpose. A flower doesn't look upon another flower and feel that it is prettier. No one thing in nature feels entitled.

As humans we allow our egos to cloud our outlook on life with unnecessary worries and distractions. We cling to "things" as status symbols. The watch that we wear or the car we drive define us rather than what is inside. This way of thinking can lead to disaster.

When you define yourself by the "stuff" that you have, you will constantly be chasing for more in order to keep your status high. You also begin to forget about other people if they don't meet your need for status. You may look past the homeless person in need because you can't afford to be seen in their company. Your friends might see you and you don't want them to think bad of you.

It's this idea of feeling special that leads to problems. The fact is, we are all special. VERY special. But none more so than another. We are all equally special. We emanate from the Source. From the One. From God. We are all extensions of something perfect.

God is in everyone and everything. If we could just remember this on a daily basis, life on earth would be so much easier. Instead of everyone looking out for #1, everyone would be helping each other. There is more than enough for everyone with no need to hoard any of earths resources.

Try to see yourself in everyone that you meet. When you do this you will be compelled to be a more compassionate. Understanding that we are all connected will prompt you to help those in need. When we help others we are strengthening the whole. When the whole is in agreement, nothing is impossible.

This poem by Hafiz the Sufi poet sums it up perfectly.

Is God speaking.
Why not be polite and
Listen to

Everyone means everyone. When we keep this in mind, we become much more respectful of the people that we encounter each day. The Source is in each of us. Take the time to listen and enjoy what it has provided for all of us. Have a great day and many blessings!

Persistence - A Lesson From The Chinese Bamboo Tree

Hello friends,

Hope all is well. I wanted to share this video with you. The message reminds us to be persistent in everything we do. It may seem as though our efforts are in vain, but if you continue on despite the obstacles, results will follow.

Seeds, like our desires, take time to grow. Some longer than others. The important thing to remember is that once the seed is planted you have to have faith that if you continue to nurture this seed, it will eventually turn into something beautiful.

Don't get discouraged if you don't see the fruits of your labor right away. The seed that you have planted needs time to take root. Keep watering your seeds. Pursue your desires no matter what the circumstances may be. Circumstance is temporary. Your belief in your dream is what gets you past these difficult times.

Finally one day your desires will be realized. At this moment you will understand that your persistence was worth it. The result will be something that is amazing and unique to you. Find your passion. Uncover your desires. All that we need has been provided for us. Water your seeds of passion and know that the harvest is coming and it will soon be your time to reap its rewards. Many blessings, and have a great day.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”

-Calvin Coolidge

“The most essential factor is persistence - the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come.”

-James Whitcomb Riley

“Persistence is the twin sister of excellence. One is a matter of quality; the other, a matter of time.”

“Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragement, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak”

-Thomas Carlyle

Peace Day: Make Your Pledge To Peace

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. I just wanted to give you heads up on a very important event that will be taking place on Sunday September 21st. The event is Peace Day. I learned of the event through Peace One Day on myspace.
Hosted by MyspaceTaggers.com

Peace Day is the dream of Jeremy Gilley. In 1998 he set out to talk to the leaders of the world to establish a day of peace. A day when there would be a complete cease fire between every nation. It is a day on which everyone should be focused on the message of peace.

I am all for a day like this. Hopefully, instead of just a day, we can have a Peace Week, and a Peace Month, which will hopefully lead to peace every day of the year. It's a dream we should be all striving for and helping to promote.

Mother Theresa was approached to join many anti-war rallies and she always refused. She would say, "Point me in the direction of a peace rally and I'll be there." She knew that an anti-war movement would bring about more war.

We have a lot of wars taking place today. The "war on drugs", "the war on poverty", "the war on terrorism". It seems as though we are only losing these wars. The reason is because "war begets war". So by using words such as "war" we are only enforcing the negative feelings associated with war. The more you push against something the more it persist.

A peace rally takes away the negative and only focuses on the positive. With a peace rally, you are not fighting or destroying anything. Rather, you are building and growing the positive consciousness that is in all of us.

I encourage each of you to join the Peace Day efforts. Make an effort to promote peace on September 21st. When we have millions of people focused on peace at the same time, we will send out a great wave a positive energy. Hopefully this energy will be felt by the leaders of the world and they will realize that peace is the only way.

You can visit Peace Peace One Day to make your commitment to the Peace Day movement. I'm number 16,499 under Quoteguy. My pledge to peace is, "I will destroy an enemy by first making him my friend". I chose this because it is something I can do every day and not just on a designated day. The important thing to remember is to strive for peace each and every day.

I would love to hear your commitments to peace. Leave me a comment on how you will promote peace on September 21st and every day there after. This our planet.
our home. We have to preserve it for future generations. Let's help to ensure that peace will be the main focus of every human being living and soon to be born. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

Turn Your Failures Into Successes

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. The following are 3 quotes that remind us to persevere no matter the situation. We first have to have a dream. There has to be something that is a motivating factor in our live. Life becomes so much more exciting when we have something to live for. Discover your dream and your passion and you're on your way to fulfilled life.

Your Dreams
Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they've got a second. Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you. William James

Once you decide what your passion or dream is you then have to take the necessary steps to achieve this goal. This can be the scary part. Getting started. If you examine the lives of successful people, you will find that they failed many times before they finally "made it". No one is an instant success. In show business we often hear about the "over night sensation". The fact is that person probably worked for years before being discovered. Actors and musicians perform for years without recognition before they hit the big time. The important thing is that they believe in their dream despite what anyone else may say. This is crucial factor to realizing your dream.

If you have made mistakes, even serious ones, there is always another chance for you. What we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down. Mary Pickford photo by Daylight

Once you get started you will inevitably make mistakes. But that's OK. Mistakes are a part of growing. Breaking down the barriers is what makes us tougher for what may lay ahead of us. Understand that mistakes will be made, but that these mistakes do not have to be the end of your dream. It is merely a sign that there is a better way.

Failure into Success
Even at the worst there is a way out, a hidden secret that can turn failure into success and despair into happiness. No situation is so dark that there is not a ray of light. Norman Vincent Peale

Learn how to turn your failures into successes. The process of achieving the goal is the most important part of the journey. It is during this process that we evolve into the great person we envisioned our self to be. This is when we take our lumps and learn to be strong and focused despite the many obstacles.

The Universe always knows the best way for you to receive your blessings. It is our job to come into alignment with what the Universe has for us. Everything that we need is already provided for us. Take the time to focus on what you want, completely, and all your dreams will be given to you.

Have a great day. It's yours to create. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Here is a quick video to jump start your day. Every day is yours to create. Take control of your life from the minute you open your eyes in the morning. A Few Daily Promises

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. I just wanted to share this poem I stumbled upon today. These are a few promises that you can make to yourself everyday when you wake up in the morning. If you are true to your promises, you will start a chain reaction of events that will be truly amazing.

Have a great day, and many blessings!

Promise Yourself

Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can
disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to
every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel like there is
something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your
optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best,
and expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on the
greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give
every living person you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, and too
strong for fear, and to happy to permit the
presence of trouble.

The Power Of Intentions

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. The following is great video from Dr. Wayne Dyer titled "The Power Of Intention". It is based on his book under the same name. Once we learn how to positively use our intentions, our possibilities will be endless.

Set aside some time to watch this video. It's just over two hours long but the time flies by because by listening you are actually connecting with the Source. Listen to the words and then internalize them. Follow the steps that he lays out. Baby steps get you to your goals. Nothing is impossible as long as your intentions are focused.

Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

Love Yourself Unconditionally

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Here are some great quotes about love to think about today. Love is all we need. Love encompasses everything. The most important love, is love for yourself.

Myspace Backgrounds - Love Sign in Sand

It is very hard to show love outwardly if you don't have the same feelings on the inside. The first step to realizing love is have and unconditional love for yourself. This means not judging yourself to harshly. A lot of times we are our own worst critics. If we do something wrong or make a mistake, we are quick to beat ourselves up.

Take it easy on yourself. In this existence, mistakes will be made. That's what makes us stronger to face new challenges. By overcoming certain obstacles we are equipping ourselves for the what may come next. But is you beat yourself every time something goes wrong, you will probably be hesitant to try again because of the fear of failure.

Once you begin to love yourself, the world will begin to show you love. Remember that what is happening around you, is a reflection of what is happening within. So if their is inner turmoil, the same will be manifested into your reality.

Myspace Comments - Youll Always Be Special

Here are some great quotes about love. Take a few with you throughout your day. Remember to show a little love to your fellow man. More importantly, be sure to show yourself some love as well. If you can't love yourself...who else can? Have a great day, and thanks for listening. Blessings!

Don't Give Into The Theif In The Mind

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Jim Rohn is one of my favorite speakers. The way in which he delivers his message always hits home with me. He mainly speaks about succeeding in sales and marketing, but does so from a different angle.

Rohn doesn't teach about specific businesses that will make you rich but rather the mindset you need to have in order to be rich. His talks are always geared towards personal development.

In order to be successful, Rohn challenges us to change ourselves rather than the environment we inhabit. Circumstances are the way they are so there's no point in trying to change them. The key is to change the way we look at the circumstances. Once we do that, the road to success becomes a bit clearer.

Enjoy this short video. After it is done, I encourage you to browse some of the other videos by Jim Rohn. Even though I have never met Mr. Rohn, I consider him to be a mentor of mine. That's the great thing about technology. The information is here for us to use. Take advantage and grow beyond your wildest dreams. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

Self Ideal vs. Self Image

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. I came across this video while searching for motivational tools for people in network marketing. Brian Tracy is an excellent motivational speaker. He specializes in talking about sales and marketing but his words can be used by all.

Enjoy this short video. Tracy does a great job of explaining the difference between our Self Ideal and our Self Image. I encourage you to try some of the tools and exercises that other successful people are using.

Remember that success isn't necessarily measured by all the toys you accumulate, but by knowing you did the best you could in every situation. Have a great day and thanks for listening. Blessings!

A Little Help From Our Friends

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Yesterday I was visiting my friends Myspace profiles as I do from time to time. Paulo Coelho, author of The Alchemist is on my friends list. He is one of my favorite authors and I visit his blog regularly.

Currently he has "A Little Help From Our Friends" performed by Joe Crocker as his profile song. I know it as the theme song to the early 90's television show The Wonder Years. Some of you may recognize his famous Woodstock performance. I've always liked this song and the message behind it is powerful.

Emma hugging Maki

I'm thankful for the friends that I have and for the ones I make on a daily basis. I think it is so much better to make friends than enemies. One of my favorite quotes is..."Every time you make a friend, you destroy an enemy."To me it is easier and less stressful to manage friends than enemies.

Your friends are the people you can count on when you need help. They are there to remind you how to laugh. When you need a shoulder to cry on. True friends understand when to talk and when to be silent and just listen. A true friend doesn't criticize you or your actions. They accept you for who you are and love you in spite of it.

Be the type of friend that you want to have. Surround yourself with positive and happy people. Life is not always perfect, but if you associate with positive people, getting through those tough times will be a little easier.

The following is the Woodstock performance by Joe Crocker. He's a little quirky. Kind of all over the place, but simply listen to words of the song. All we need is a little help from our friends. If each of us determine in our hearts to be that helpful friend, the world will be a much better place. So as you go through your day tell your friends that you love them and are thankful for them. You will see that your day will be much brighter and exciting.

Enjoy the video. I'm here to help you anyway you can. Have a great day and thanks for listening. Many blessings!

Brand New Day...Brand New Start

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. I came across this great quote on Positive Attitude Quotes.

Don't drag yesterday problems into this brand new day. Give yourself, and those around you, a break and start fresh.

Every day is a new day. Every hour is a new hour. Every second is a new second. Every moment is a new moment. We can't go back into the past so there's no point in living there.

Sunrise at Daytona Beach, FL (revisited)

Many of us carry a lot of unnecessary baggage with us everyday. What happened yesterday is gone forever. Positive and negative. New days should bring new adventures. Everyday should be explored to its fullest.

Allowing yesterdays worries to affect today, places us in a repetitive cycle. We see our problems as too big, so instead of finding a solution we make the same mistakes over and over. Instead of talking about how many problems we have we should be talking about the solutions to those problems.

We all have problems. That's just the way it is. The difference between happy successful people and unhappy depressed people is that the successful look for answers. Successful people look forward to challenges. They know that every time they solve a problem they get smarter. By taking these challenges head on they are strengthening their minds. They are better equipped to handle the next set of circumstances.

Find ways to become the solution to problems rather than a contributor. People feed off of each others emotions and thoughts. Keep your thoughts positive because whether you know it or not, you have an affect on everyone you meet. Be sure that you leave a positive impression where ever you go. Don't put your problems on someone else. Today is a new day and it should be a positive one.

Have a great day and remember to spread the message of positive thought with those that you meet. Many blessings and thanks for listening.

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Just reminding you that you have an infinite potential for what ever you put your attention to. Myspace Comments - Infinitely Great Week

We already have it. Just reach out and grab it . When things get tough(and they will), press on. Once you reach your goals you will be filled with a sense of fulfillment, joy, and inner peace.

Shower Yourself With Love

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Enjoy this short video. Let it be a reminder to love the ones who around you, but take it a step farther. Shower them with love. Don't just love them but show them that you have love for them. Shower them with praise. Shower them with gratitude. Shower them with compassion.

Myspace Backgrounds - Love & Adore

When you take a shower you are cleansing your physical body of all the impurities of the day. The dirt builds up. You don't function as well, and people will stay away from you if you don't shower for a while because you'll stink.

Love can do the same for the soul. A "Love Shower" cleanses the impurities that are within. When you show someone love you also strengthen their inner core. Their inner self. As you continue to give away love, love will be shown back to you.

Try to surround yourself with loving situations, remembering that true love can only come from within. A Message Of Love From Matt The Dancing Man

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. I came across this video through a friend of a friend. Matt is an ordinary guy who was doing ordinary things when he decided that he needed a change. He decided to quit his job and travel with the little money he had saved up.

This became boring as well and a friend suggested that he do his silly dance that he was known for amongst his friends and capture it on film to spice things up a little. Somehow the people at Stride Gum picked it up and the rest is history. Matt has been to 42 countries just doing his dance. It became infectious and people around the world were doing Matt's silly dance.

What I love about this video are the faces of the people who are dancing with Matt. These people are from all over the world and from different cultures, but they all seemed to respond more or less the same. With joy. They couldn't understand each other verbally, but emotionally they were connected in a very beautiful way.

The emotion of love transcends and penetrates any culture. You don't need to speak the same language or look the same way as someone to give them love. Love can be displayed in a simple smile. Allowing someone to go ahead of you in a check out line. Holding the door for someone. These little gestures are what love is all about.

Just keep dancing. Matt doesn't dance very well at all, but the emotion behind the dancing had drawn millions to watch this video. He has gone from the ordinary to the extraordinary. This let's us know that if love fuels are intentions the response will be beyond anything we could ever imagine.

Make sure you share this video with a friend. Do your own silly dance. I have one that I do every time something happens for me that I have been intending. I actually visualize myself receiving whatever it is and then I visualize myself doing my dance as I receive it. When I receive the blessings physically, I do the dance, because this is what I saw myself doing.

Life has its challenges. Find ways to make your existence more enjoyable. All of us have a limitless potential. Find your special "something" and you will gain an inner peace that comes from being aligned with the Universe. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

Put Your Imperfections To Perfect Use

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Each of us is unique in our own way. Each of us has something to offer this world that no one else can offer. Each one of us is special. It is our job to bring ourselves into alignment with the Universe so that we can let our uniqueness shine.

All of us have our little imperfections. Little flaws that we would like to be rid. Sometimes we let these little flaws cause big problems. We tend to focus on what is wrong with us instead of focusing on our strengths. If we see something in our lives as being a problem, well, it will be a problem. But if we can find a way to focus on how we can use the talents that we have, we will soon discover that we can accomplish anything.

The following short story illustrates how we need to focus on the beauty that is around us and that we are creating. Don't focus on the little imperfections. Notice that these imperfections may be absolutely perfect if seen from a different angle. Yes, we may have a few cracks in the pot, but that should never stop you from striving for your ultimate goal. Enjoy this story and remember it as you go through your day. Beautiful gardens are growing all around you and you might be missing it. Thanks for listening, and many blessings!

The Cracked Pot
Author Unknown

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on the end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots was perfectly made and never leaked. The other pot had a crack in it and by the time the water bearer reached his master's house it had leaked much of it's water and was only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his master's house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you." "Why?" asked the bearer. "What are you ashamed of?" "I have been able, for these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master's house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said.

The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, "As we return to the master's house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path."

Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some. But at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again the pot apologized to the bearer for its failure.

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my master's table. Without you being just the way you are, he would not have this beauty to grace his house."
Tulips and Pansies in the Victorian Garden, Missouri Botanical Garden, Spring

Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But if we will allow it, God will use our flaws to grace his table. In God's great economy, nothing goes to waste. Don't be afraid of your flaws. Acknowledge them, and you too can be the cause of beauty. Know that in our weakness we find our strength.

Happy Father's Day

Have a Happy Father's Day

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Last month you had the opportunity to meet my mom on Mother's Day. Today I get to introduce you to the other person responsible for my existence. My Dad.

I am thankful for my father. I was looking at some old pictures of myself and my parents when I was a child. It brought back some great memories. I am very proud of my dad. He took a chance and followed his passion and left his home of Trinidad and Tobago. My father had a calling on his life to be a pastor and stared change in the face and didn't flinch.

Even though he had no idea what America would be like he decided to heed his calling to serve God and the people. I guess this is why I talk about breaking your comfort zone so much. When you break from the norm , amazing things can happen.

My dad taught me the fundamentals of life. He taught me about spirituality. I was taught to love God first and all else would fall in to place. I was also taught to love my neighbor and treat others equally. Our church motto was, "The church where everyone is someone, and Jesus Christ is Lord." This saying has stuck with me to this day. I truly believe that everyone has an infinite potential, that if explored in the light of the Source, will produce great things.

My dad encouraged me to be diverse in my studies as well as in sport. He never pushed me to play one sport, but encouraged me to strive to be the best I could be in all sports I played. Not the pressure filled encouragement that children sometime hate, but rather the encouragement that said, "see how far you can go."

My dad allowed me to grow up. He never babied me but still showed the love I needed. I was joking with my parents the last time I visited them about how I learned to drive. The day I got my driver's license, I wanted to take the car to Friday night youth group at church. My father handed me the keys and said "be careful." My mother was not so enthusiastic. She wanted to drive me instead. My dad said no, and that I was ready to go on my own.

I think deep down he was a little nervous but that is what dad's are for. They are there to teach there children when they are young. Mold them as they grow into teenagers. And finally to let them go to discover their own life. A father who has taught their children well, looks forward to the results of nurturing their seed.

I am very pleased to have my dad as my dad. A lot of kids are not fortunate enough to know there dads. A lot of marriages are ending in divorce. I am thankful that my parents are still together and going strong.

To all the fathers out there, remember why you have the title "Dad". Be a real dad. A dad that gets to the baseball games. A dad that has the patience to teach their child long division. A dad that drives 500 miles to see his son graduate from college. A dad, that when you call home at the age of 33, still offers the same comfort you felt at the age of 3. I love you dad. Thanks for teaching me and loving me as a real dad should. Many blessings to all.

When God was creating fathers, He started with a tall frame. An angel nearby said, "What kind of father is that? If you’re going to make children so close to the ground, why have you put fathers up so high? He won’t be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, tuck a child in bed without bending, or even kiss a child without a lot of stooping." God smiled, "Yes, but if I make him child size, who would children have to look up to?" When God made a father’s hands, they were large and sinewy. The angel shook her head sadly and said, "Do You know what You’re doing? Large hands are clumsy. They can’t manage diaper pins, small buttons, or rubber bands on pony tails." God smiled, "I know, but they’re large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets at the end of a day… yet small enough to cup a child’s face." Then God molded long legs and broad shoulders. The angel nearby said, "Do You realize You just made a father without a lap? How will he pull a child close to him without the kid falling between his legs?" God smiled and replied, "A mother needs a lap. A father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, balance a boy on a bicycle or hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus." God then created two very large feet. "Do You honestly think those feet are going to dig out of bed early in the morning when the baby cries? Or walk through a small birthday party without crushing at least three of the guests?" the angel said. God smiled: "They’ll support a child learning how to dance, and they will have shoes that young children can play in like clowns." God worked through the night, giving fathers few words but a firm authoritative voice; eyes that see everything, but remain calm and tolerant. Finally, He added tears, then turned to the angel, "Now are you satisfied?" The angel was silent.

Do Not Limit Yourself

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Remember the only limits we have, are the ones that we put are on ourselves. Break through the uncomfortable or better yet leave your comfort zone. Explore new ideas. Make new friends. Travel to distant lands, rediscover where you reside now with all the beauty that currently surrounds you.

Set your goals high and understand the Universe has already set up everything that you need to achieve this goal. It is already yours. Just reach out and grab it.

Learn not to over think situations. Realize that some things are the way they are and you can't change it. So adapt and find a way to make it work. Be creative on your quest.

The journey, not the destination is what is important. It is along the journey that you learn. You grow. Where you pick up the "ammunition" you need to tackle life challenges. Never forget that challenges lead to greatness. So don't be afraid of challenges. Embrace them. Know that you will be stronger for having gone through such ordeals.

Life is truly limitless if you allow it to be. Find your passion and see it through to the end. By following your passion you will leave behind a legacy. And when they speak your name, they will say that you are a person who lived a rich and fulfilled life.

Think about the following quotes as you go through your day. Put no restraints on your existence. Experience all that you can and always continue to grow. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

12 Of My Favorite Attitude Quotes

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Here are some great quotes about attitude to think about over the weekend. The attitude that we bring to our daily activities determine the outcome of our efforts. If you go into a situation thinking that you are already defeated then you might as well not even try.

We create our existence with our thoughts. Lets your thoughts be positive. Let your thoughts be progressive. Let your thoughts be filled with love and compassion for your fellow man. This will produce positive results. This will promote progressive action. This will produce a world that is loving and compassionate.

It all starts with your attitude. Your attitude is contagious. Be careful of the vibrations that you are sending out. If you are in a bad mood, it will be felt by those around you. Two things can happen when you have a bad attitude.

1.People will run away from you, because you will be difficult to be around. It's hard to be around someone that is always depressed. It brings people down and if they are not of that same mindset you will find yourself very lonely.

2.You will find yourself surrounded by a bunch of depressed people. People that are habitually depressed are addicted to that emotion. They tend to gravitate towards other people in the same boat. They love telling each other how depressing their lives are.

I don't know which one is worse but both are detrimental to the global human spirit. Make an effort to keep your attitude positive. You will notice that it will start to rub off on other people. If you are positive, those around you will have no choice but to positive or they will go away because misery cannot survive where there is only happiness.

Remember these quotes as you go through your day. Begin to be the person that you want to be. The type of person that others gravitate towards not to speak of how hard life is, but to rejoice in the unlimited potential that is in all of us. Have a great day, and thanks for listening. Many blessings!

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense."

How It Feels To Have A Stroke

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. A friend showed me this video earlier this week. The speaker, Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor, tells the story of how she experienced a stroke that actually put her into a state of euphoria. It's hard to think that having a stroke could be a good thing, but Taylor paints a beautiful picture that has no inhibitions and prior "hang-ups."

I don't want to say to much about the video because I can't even come close to telling the story as well as she can. Enjoy this video. Listen to the words that she uses and understand that we don't have to suffer a stroke in order to experience pure "bliss." Have a great day and many blessings!

Conceive, Believe, Achieve

Hello Friends,

This is one of my favorite videos. I often watch it to remind myself that, "Whatever the mind can conceive, and believe, it can achieve." Napoleon Hill is the author of Think and Grow Rich: The Landmark Bestseller--Now Revised and Updated for the 21st Century. I recommend that everyone read this book. Even if your aim isn't necessarily financial prosperity, there are some very powerful "life" lessons to be learned from Hill.

This video is Hill speaking about how he came to his decision to undertake a challenge given to him by Andrew Carnegie. The mission was to find the characteristics and attributes that all successful people shared. This was a daunting task. One that Hill himself didn't think he was qualified to do.

Andrew Carnegie taught him the very important lesson of having a thought and then believing that you can achieve your goal. We often have dreams and good intentions but for some reason we get distracted. We let our dreams fade away. Is it because of lack of courage? Is it lack of belief? It is just laziness? What ever it is, nothing will change unless we do something differently.

Enjoy the video. Listen to the words of Napoleon Hill. Remember that all it takes is a thought. "Whatever we think about, we bring about." Take time to meditate on the things and situations that you want in your life. Focus on what you want in your life, leaving all negative feelings and emotions behind. This is the beginning of many great events in your life.

Have a great day, and many blessings!

Children Speak Out About Human Rights

Hello Friends,

Bloggers Unite Hope all is well. Today bloggers all over the world are blogging for one purpose. Human Rights. I am especially interested the basic rights for children. As the song says, "they are our future."

The following are some great videos presented by youthforhumanrights.org. We need to take on the mindset of a child. They have not formed too many concrete opinions. Everything is new and fresh to them. It is this innocence that makes them precious. They are only living for the moment.

Children deserve the right to be able to express themselves. They need the freedom to create. They need the freedom to just play. As adults we need to take responsibility for our actions. We need to be careful with the policies and laws that are being passed that threaten our basic civil liberties. The choices that we make will effect the younger generations the most after we are long and gone.

Allow children to just be. Allow them to use the minds and their thoughts. Don't stifle a child when he or she wants to share with you. That instant could be the catalyst for something big. If you don't listen, that child may never have the confidence to say anything again. Be like a child. Rediscover your innocence. Stop trying to make sense of everything and just...BE.

Enjoy these short videos. There are tones of them, but these were a few of my favorites. Everyday should be Human Rights Day. Make it your aim to do what you can to preserve the basic human rights of us all. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful Mother's out there. I just got off the phone with my Mom. She and my Dad were just coming home from a Mother's Day brunch.

I am very thankful for the Mom that I have. She has always been very supportive. Not a day goes by that I don't think of something that she has instilled in me. A few posts ago I wrote about character. This post was inspired by the wisdom that she imparted on me.

She always reminded me that my name precedes me. That is to say that judgments are made based on what others say about you. You may not have an opportunity to make a good first impression, so make sure your reputation is a good one.

She also pressed upon me to be a leader and not a follower. It can be okay to follow, but make sure that you are learning at all times so that when the time comes you will be an effective leader. She did not want me to be led blindly. I was encouraged to grow in every situation.

It's funny. When I go home to visit I feel like I'm twelve years old again. Not that I feel like a little kid, but that I feel so comfortable in her presence. I'm allowed to be myself. I know that while I'm with her I don't have to make a good impression. I know that she will love me for me.

I know there are some parent-child relationships that aren't healthy. That is always a tough situation to be in. Sometimes our parents can be our worst critics. They have your best intentions in mind but they sometimes come across as being too overbearing. Every situation is different but try to understand that they usually have your best intentions in mind.

To my Mom, I say, I love you. To all the Mother's out there, I love you too. Be sure to contact the person or persons that you call Mom. Just call to say hello. A heart-felt "hi" is all it takes to raise ones vibrations. Enjoy the following quotes about the virtues of a Mother and share them with the ones you love. Have a great day and thanks for listening.

Bruce Lee: Be Like Water My Friends

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. I love Bruce Lee. Not only for his movies but also for his philosophies. He took the view that traditional martial arts techniques were too rigid and formalistic to be practical in scenarios of chaotic street fighting. Lee decided to develop a system called Jeet Kun Do, which had an emphasis on "practicality, flexibility, speed, and efficiency".

Jeet Kun Do is not only a fighting style but also a philosophy. Up to this point, in traditional martial arts, there was a "way." Lee thought differently. He believed that there are many ways to earn victory. One must be flexible, adaptable, ever changing with the situation.

His was "the style, with no style." This is mindset that I like to take. This philosophy doesn't put you in a box. One can be successful in all situations if you apply these principles. One must train oneself to be adaptable whenever a challenge comes your way.

Lee practiced many styles to make up the "no style" technique. We too must study many aspects of life to be well rounded. Begin to branch out and explore new ideas. Don't limit yourself to what is comfortable and easy. Challenge yourself from time to time to learn something new. This knowledge gives you leverage. Ignorance gets you nowhere.

In the following video, Lee talks about being like water. Being fluid. Being able to become the shape of the container. We need to train our minds to be like this. Be as diverse as possible with your learning. Study the good and the bad. Try to get the whole picture. As you begin to develop your brain muscles, you will feel more comfortable in your environment. More confident. More sure of yourself. "Be like water my friends." Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

Your Character Precedes You

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. "Remember what your last name is." This is what my parents would say to me every time I left the house when I was younger. I didn't think anything of it at the time. I mainly thought that they didn't want me to tarnish the family name. As a teenager, I thought that they were only worried about themselves.

Now that I am older, I understand the principles that they were trying to instill in me. It wasn't necessarily the last name that would be tarnished, but rather my character that might be damaged. When you think of people like Gandhi, Mother Theresa, or Dr. Martin Luther King, there character proceeds them. You knew without a doubt that their actions were going to be noble and kind.

My parents wanted me to build a name in this manner. It wasn't to protect the family name. They reminded me of this daily so that I good build and maintain my own good name. At work there may be "that person" that when you see them coming, you say to yourself, "Here comes trouble". You know from there past actions that they will probably end up in some kind of conflict. This is their nature. They tend to talk about people behind their backs. They constantly try to make themselves look better than others.

Then there are people who seem to brighten up a room. They are well liked. People like to be around them. They seem to emit very strong positive vibrations. These vibrations are so strong that they transfer to everyone they may come in contact with. The character of this person is never questioned, and if it is, they don't get upset because they know that lies can not survive in the light of truth.

Start thinking about how others perceive you. Do they run when they see you coming or do they welcome you with open arms. Are you hearing the whispers of deceit and betrayal or are you hearing the whispers of praise and approval. Your character proceeds you. They say the first impression is important. Will you let a reputation of having bad character be your introduction, or will you let your good character seal the deal before you have even arrived. It's up to you. Many blessings, and thanks for listening.

You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself one.
Henry David Thoreau

Be your character what it will, it will be known, and nobody will take it upon your word.
Lord Chesterfield

Reputation is what men and women think of us; character is what God and angels know of us.
Thomas Paine

Nothing of character is really permanent but virtue and personal worth.
Daniel Webster

The essential thing is not knowledge, but character.
Joseph Le Conte

It requires less character to discover the faults of others, than to tolerate them.
J. Petit Senn

A good name will shine forever.

A fair reputation is a plant, delicate in its nature, and by no means rapid in its growth. It will not shoot up in a night like the gourd of the prophet; but, like that gourd, it may perish in a night.
Jeremy Taylor

Sow an act, and you reap a habit; sow a habit, and you reap a character; sow a character, and you reap a destiny.
George Dana Boardman

Talents are best nurtured in solitude. Character is best formed in the stormy billows of the world.
Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

Effort = Success (Just Try)

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Here are some great quotes to remind you of the path to success. Success simply takes effort. We must first try before we get. We often want our desire in an instant. This is not the way it works. It takes effort.

Decide today that you will not take no for an answer. Not from your friends. Not from you family. And most importantly, not from yourself. We can often be our own worst enemies. We allow people and situations to deter us instead of being steadfast in our beliefs.

Your goals and desires are yours and your alone. Why let someone tell you that you can't do something? Why let negativity creep in from external sources? Be confident in yourself and no one will be able to discourage you.

It doesn't matter what people say to you. It only matters if you allow it to affect you. I've mentioned this in prior posts, but I like to say to myself, "What you think of me is none of my business." This reminds me that those negative thoughts belong to the other person not me. So if someone says that you can't be successful in a certain way, that's ok, because that's their thoughts. It shouldn't effect you.

Enjoy the following quotes. Memorize one or two today and apply it to your life. When opposition arises remember these quotes as a reminder that you can't be stopped. No one is going to get in your way. Today is your day to shine. The sky is the limit. Start flying. Many blessings and thanks for listening.

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.
Theodore Roosevelt

Half of the failures in life come from pulling one's horse when he is leaping.
Thomas Hood

Go back a little to leap further.
John Clarke

Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.
William Shakespeare

There is no impossibility to him who stands prepared to conquer every hazard.
The fearful are the failing.
Sarah J. Hale

We learn wisdom from failure much more than success. We often discover what we will do, by finding out what we will not do.
Samuel Smiles

I was never afraid of failure, for I would sooner fail than not be among the best.
John Keats

One who fears failure limits his activities.
Failure is only the opportunity to more
intelligently begin again.
Henry Ford

He that is down needs fear no fall.
John Bunyan

Never let the fear of striking out get in your way.
George Herman "Babe" Ruth

Believe In Yourself

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Here's a short video with some great quotes to keep you motivated. Belief in oneself is all that is needed for success. Too many times we listen to our friends and family when they say we can't do something. We look at the current state of the economy and get frustrated. We become paralyzed by all that is happening around us.

Believe in yourself. That's all that matters. It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks of you. Your opinion is the only one that matters. It is your life and you should be the one that determines your successes and failures.

If you're going to fail make sure it's on your terms. Let failure come as a result of trying. Don't let failure come as a result of doing nothing. Failing as a result of doing makes you stronger. Makes you wiser. Learn from your mistakes. Capitalize on the fact that you've been there, done that, and next time you're going to do it better.

Focus on everything positive about your dreams. Let no person steer your wrong in your quest. Your life is yours. Your dreams are yours. When the time comes, let the Universe use you, your dreams, and talents you have been blessed with for the higher good of all.

This is what strengthens the whole. This is what brings about peace and harmony. If we would just believe in ourselves and use our talents for the benefit of others, life would flow so much easier. Enjoy the video, and remember that you are an amazing being with an infinite amount of potential. Use this potential to make the world around you a better place. Have a great day, and thanks for listening. Blessings!

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Happy Earth Day. Today is the day to celebrate our planet. We need to be mindful of the place that we call home. We must take better care of our habitat. If we don't we will soon have to find another place to live.

Use this day as a reminder to take care of the earth. It should become a daily practice. The following are some great tips to help preserve the earths' resources. Begin to employ these energy saving tactics. If enough people adhere to these practices, the planet will be a much cleaner and safer place to live.

Remember that we are connected to nature. There has to be a balance between humans and nature. If we exhaust the planet of its resources it will no longer be able sustain us as a people. Ten things you can do this Earth Day

Wondering how you can make a difference? Here are 10 things you can do to help the planet, whether it's Earth Day or not.

1. Leave your car at home for a day (or a week or a month) and try walking or biking. If work is too far away to walk, take public transit or carpool. One city bus eliminates the emissions of 40 cars.

2. Turn off the lights, the computer and the television when they are not in use. Using only highly efficient and money-saving appliances can reduce the electricity consumption of an average household to one-10th of the national average.

3. Try eating meat-free at least one day a week. A meat-based diet requires seven times more land than a plant-based diet. Livestock production is responsible for more climate change gasses than all the motor vehicles in the world.

4. Choose foods produced organically, locally and in season. Support your regional farmers and farming industry: buying locally and in season is better for the environment than buying foods that have been shipped hundreds of kilometres to your local market.

5. Put a composter in your backyard or use your green bin to reduce household waste. Composting organics has two key benefits: it reduces the amount of waste going to landfills and when added to your garden, helps nourish soil and plants.

6. Turn off your car's engine if stopped for more than 10 seconds. If every driver of a light-duty vehicle avoided idling by five minutes a day, collectively, we would save 1.8 million litres of fuel per day, almost 4500 tonnes of GHG emissions.

7. Set your thermostat above room temperature in the summer and below room temperature in the winter. For each degree you adjust, you can save 5% on your utility bill and 1% on your energy use.

8. Replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs). A CFL uses only 25% as much energy as an incandescent bulb and lasts 10 times longer.

9. The simple act of recycling has more impact on the environment than the average Canadian thinks. The amount of wood and paper North Americans throw away each year is enough to heat five million homes for 200 years.

10. This is a great opportunity to brag. Tell someone what you're doing to make the world a better place. Support the cause. Encourage them to get involved too.

Be Prepared For What The Universe Has For You

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. I'm completely moved into my new apartment and I love it. It is everything that I had been wanting for the past couple of months. I loved my old apartment but it was starting to get a little cramped.

I started to focus on the apartment that I wanted while being grateful for the one that I already had. My new apartment is a lot bigger. So much that I have to much space and not enough stuff. I see that as a blessing. An opportunity to grow.

I learned an important lesson about being prepared when opportunity presents itself. When I was first told about the apartment I hesitated. I was asking the Universe for a bigger apartment, but when given the opportunity, I froze up a little. I began to think of everything that was wrong with such as move. I thought things like:

-I'm already comfortable.
-The move will take too long.
-I have no one to help me.
-I don't have the time to move right now.
-The rent is going to be too high.
-I have to change my address again.
-I have to switch over all my utilities.
-Moving my turtle tank is going to be a pain.

This is the short list. It seemed like within a minute I thought of a thousand reasons why I shouldn't move. I got what I wanted but I wasn't prepared for what I got. I have written about preparation and opportunity before, but it really hit home once I stopped and looked at the move as an opportunity rather than a chore.

A lot of us are wanting "things" for our life. It could be a new car, a new career, or a new relationship. We are asking and asking, but when the opportunity presents itself we sometimes crawl back into our little shell.

Begin to prepare yourself for opportunity. If you are asking for something, begin to live that life. If you are wanting to start a new business, start living like you already own the new company. Get into that mindset. Do all the research necessary for that particular business. Know your business inside out. Once the opportunity is there, you will be prepared to go ahead full steam. On the other hand, if you don't prepare, you will probably fail very quickly.

Here are some great preparation quotes to help us to remember to be ready when opportunity knocks. Memorize one or two of them. Use these quotes as a reminder to yourself. Preparation is very important to creating the existence that you want. Be ready for what the Universe has for you. Many blessings ,and thanks for listening.

To be prepared is half the victory.

H. Jackson Brown Jr.
The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.

Johnny Carson
Talent alone won't make you a success. Neither will being in the right place at the right time, unless you are ready. The most important question is: 'Are your ready?'

One thing life taught me -- if you are interested, you never have to look for new interests. They come to you.
