Attitude is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success,
than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.
It will make or break a company, a home, a relationship.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice, every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for the day.
We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that other people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90 % how I react to it.

How Do You Measure Wealth?

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. Wealth means different things to different people. True wealth comes in all aspects of life. Money is not the only measure of wealth. Having good health, good relationships, peace of mind, are all attributes of being wealthy.
Here's a story that illustrates this fact perfectly. The author is unknown. If anyone knows the author of this story, feel free to let me know. Enjoy.
One day a very rich father took his family on a trip to the country. "How come we're doing this, Dad?" one of the kids wanted to know.
"Oh," he replied, "I just want to show you how poor some people can be."
So they spent a day and a night at the farm of a very poor family. When they returned from their journey, the father asked his son, "Well, how did you enjoy that?"
The young man said, "Aw, it was super, Dad! Thanks!"
"And...what did you learn?" the father asked. And his boy answered, "I saw that we have a dog here at home...but that farmer and his family had FOUR dogs.
"We have a swimming pool that reaches to the middle of the garden; but they have a creek that doesn't even have an end.
"We have imported lamps in our garden; but they have the stars they can see every night.
"Our patio reaches to the front yard, but they have a whole horizon."
The boy stopped for a moment and looked at his shaken father. "Dad," he said, "you told me you were going to show me how poor people can be. I get it--we're really poor, aren't we?"

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. I came across this story while browsing the web today. The author is unknown, but I found it at: http://www.joyfulministry.com/bestrate.htm. This is a powerful story about the importance of having a positive attitude. Enjoy.
Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone asked him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!" He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"
Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, Jerry, you have two choices today. 'You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."
"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.
"Yes it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life." I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.
Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.
I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live.
"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.
Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man. " I knew I needed to take action."
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply..I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Bullets!' Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."
Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. As you can see there have been changes to this blog sinced it launched. I have been having so much fun with it. Writing has really been an eye-opener for me. It's truly amazing how many ideas come to you as you exercise the mind.
At the top right corner you'll notice "the country count." I thought it would be fun to track where visitors are coming from.
There are readers from Australia, England, Italy, and Greece to name a few. Our most recent reader comes from Singapore. I'm trying to build a link so that I can show all the countries and maybe write a little bit about it. I think it would be fun for our readers to find out information about other countries.
Also on the right you'll notice a widget for Blogrush. It launched less than two weeks ago. This is a traffic generator. They just updated the colors. It matches nicely now. Don't you think? In these widgets you have links to other blogs along the same subject line as this one.
Some people have criticized it because they feel that their viewers will be taken away from their site. This doesn't bother me because it's an opportunity to have interaction with more people and share ideas. Plus every time you visit one of those sites, I am guaranteed a visitor in return.
There's no money to be made with this program. It's solely for generating traffic. If you have a blog you can click on the bottom of the widget to put one on your site. You now have a greater resource for finding more like-minded people. So for our purposes, I think it's a good thing.
I'm excited for the future and would like to thank those of you who have been reading. It's been a growing experience and I hope that a few lives have been touched as a result of this blog. I'll leave you with this quote.
The "people" who scorn perfection for the sake of travel go nowhere, slowly. Those who put aside travel for the sake of perfection go anywhere, instantly."

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. It's been a busy day. I've been running around all day. I wanted to leave you with something to think about though.
These are a two clips from the movie, Waking Life. It's one of my favorite movies. It follows a young man who is in a lucid dream-state. He comes across some very interesting characters who engage him in topics such as Existentialsm, Free will & Physics, Fear & Laziness, to name a few.
I highly recommend that you view Waking Life. It has many life lessons and tons of good quotes.

Pursuit Of Happiness?

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. The quote of the day comes from C.P. Snow, an English novelist and scientist. He is best known for his work Science and Government
"The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase; if you pursue happiness you'll never find it."
Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? If you are always chasing after something, you will never catch it. You can't get to something that you're pursuing. It's impossible. Living in the "now" is a mindset that we all need to adopt.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't plan for the future. I'm saying, start living as if you are already living your future. If you look at it like that you will see there is no future but only now.
I think the worst phrase you could use in terms of your success is, "as soon as." "As soon as I get that raise, I'll buy that car." "As soon as my spouse stops nagging me, I'll start spending more time." "As soon as I get some time, I'll start exercising." Can you see the problem with using this phrase? You will never get the raise. Your spouse will never stop nagging you. You will never find time to exercise.
This thought process keeps all your hopes and dreams out of reach and in the future. Start meditating on the life that you want. Spend a few minutes a day by yourself, visualizing exactly what you want.
If you want that car, visualize yourself driving it and feel good about it. If you want your spouse to stop nagging you, picture yourself with that person in loving situations and feel good about it. If you want to lose weight, see yourself wearing that dream outfit and feel good about it.
"Feeling good" about it is what speeds up the process of getting what you want. "Feeling Good" is what makes it real to you. You feel happy about it. You become enthused and start the creation process of your new existence. You can always say and do the things that you are supposed to, but if you don't believe it, and "feel good" about it nothing will ever happen.
Don't pursue happiness. Just have it. Just live it. Just be it.
Thanks for listening

God vs. Law Of Attraction

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. I mentioned in a prior post that I had joined a few forums on the subjects of Law of Attraction Manifestations and Intentions. Forums are a great place to connect with like-minded people on whatever subject you like. There is wealth of knowledge out there and usually the people are pretty friendly.
The following post from one of these forums caught my eye so I read it. It's a tough subject on the surface but as you look into it deeper it is so very straight forward and simple.
This was the post from "Rich."
Hello to everyone,
I'm just a newbie in practicing the law of attraction and I have intended to learn more about it. I have been reading, researching and practicing all of its 'requirements' to make my desired reality a reality.
So far, I have experienced the alpha reflections and streams of beta reflections (people, ideas, resources), but no major windfall yet. Oh, yes, I'm convinced its coming to fruition soon.
One of the concrete example of people and resources coming to me to englighten me on the LoA is Steve's blog. I thank you for selflessly sharing your knowledge to readers like me.
One of my questions, that I hope you guys can help me is: How can I reconcile my belief in God with the LoA? Is it "un- Christian?"
There were many varied responses. This is what I wrote.
Hey Rich,
I struggled with same thing when I first saw "The Secret." I'm a P.K.(A Preacher's Kid for those that didn't know). I think that I understand the concept of God so much more now. When I view the movie I substitute God every time they say Universe. I substitute God every time they mention The Secret. If you do that it is easy to see that The Bible has been teaching us the Law of Attraction(LOA) all along.
The creation story is the crux of LOA. The Bible says that God created the earth from a void. From nothing. God had a thought. "Let there be light. And there was light." God thought it, and it was.
Since God thought all of this into being, this leads then to the understanding that our whole existence in terms of the physical is all an illusion. Knowing this leads us to understand why "miracles" can happen. And thus knowing this we understand that "miracles" aren't miracles at all. We call them miracles because we choose to live in this physical world bound by rules and the only way to justify miracles is by labeling them as such.
We are extension of a Source Energy. Thus we are Source Energy ourselves. I still hesisitate to call myself a God, but I do understand that within this illusion, I have the power to create my existence.
I was thinking just today about the Adam and Eve story. The reason they failed is because they looked outside of themselves for beauty, thus denying their own beauty. This is where we fail on a daily basis. We worry about the clothes we wear. We care about how people view us. Adam and Eve looked at the "forbidden fruit" and thought they needed it for some sort of self fulfillment when God warned them that all that they need is from within. Once they tried the "fruit" physicality became their reality. They saw their bodies and had to cover up. They felt fear for the first time.
Looking at the present day we see the same thing. People feel they have to hide their true selfs for fair of ridicule. And worst than that we deny the true self. I guess it is truly easier to believe in something that is physical and has a definite answer than to believe in the thoughts in our own minds. When are we going to learn?
This is just my opinion. Let me know what you think, "In Your Own Words."
P.S. There's a book I'm going to start soon called, "Jesus Taught It Too: The Early Roots Of The Law Of Attraction." As soon as I'm done, I'll give you my review.
Thanks for listening

Hello friends,
Hope all is well. I was thinking about what to write about today. While I was sitting in the living room there was a knock at the window. It was my good Orestes. He had lost his phone along with my number and decided to just pop by. Normally I like a pre-call but was not upset because I knew that Orestes would say something before he left that would trigger a good quote. He did not disappoint.
"Wherever the head goes, the body follows."
How simple but yet so profound. Orestes is a martial arts instructor as well as a personal trainer. If you want to get in shape, this is the man to see.
I always enjoy talking with Orestes because he is one of those people that is always seeking knowledge. What's even better is that he loves to share it with others. Before I could ask him for suggestions for a quote, he blurted out, "I got one for you." It is truly amazing how when you focus on something that you want it can come into being. I was thinking, 'I need a quote,' and one was given to me.
Orestes explained to me that this quote is self defense 101. If you can control the head, the body has no choice but to follow. They teach this the first day of class.
We can apply this to our own lives. The head (our thoughts) are what determine our existence. Knowing this, we have to be aware of what state of mind or thought we are in.
If we have depressing thoughts your body will be in a state of depression. If you have worrisome thoughts your body language will reflect it.
We have to make sure that we monitor our thoughts. This is hard to do because our attention spans are so short, we can be easily distracted. Like with anything else you have to practice.
Take time to meditate on the things that you want. When you focus on this, when faced with trials, your mind is ready and strong. With a strong mind your body stays in alignment with the mind. When the two are in this state there is no limit to your potential.
Thanks for listening.

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. Todays quote comes froma local celebrity to the Miami Beach area. He is simply known as Raven.
"Everyone has a place where they shine."
Raven is a simple guy that has inspired amazing events. He runs 8 miles a day on the sands of Miami Beach. He's like Forrest Gump with an attitude. He is always dressed in black. He looks more like a hardcore biker guy than your typical runner.
I was channel surfing and came across his interview on one of the local channels here in South Florida. Raven has been running every day since 1975. Over that time he has amassed over 11,000 miles. Now at the age of 57, he is going stronger than ever and shows no sign of slowing down.
What's amazing about this story is how many people he has inspired. He started by himself but has amassed quite a following. Participants tell stories of how these runs have changed their lives. Some need to get in shape. Some look for companionship. Marriages and families have been formed as a result. Some people just need a release from the day to day grind and use this as their outlet.
He says there has never been an argument on a run. Everyone supports each other. There is no competition but rather a sense of oneness. Everyone leaves physically tired but mentally refreshed.
He deems himself a shy man when walking on the street but when he is running it's his time to "shine." This is where he is most comfortable and where he feels most useful. He is able to touch many hearts by simply running alongside another individual.
So, where do you shine? Where is it that you feel the most confident? Find your niche and make the most of it. All of us have something powerful that we can share with the world. It doesn't have to be anything big. It could be something as simple as going for an 8 mile run.
"Find your place to shine." Quote the Raven, "Forever" more.

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. Since I started this blog I have made references to the movie "The Secret." It is a powerful video that deals with the Law of Attraction. I was browsing through youtube.com and found the first 20 minutes of the movie. Some of you may not have been introduced to the concept of the Law of Attraction so hopefully this will give you a quick glimpse.
This movie is what inspired me to start this site. I became interested in the quotes and sayings that were discussed. They are good lessons to pattern your life after. Enjoy the video and we'll get back to the quotes tomorrow.

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. I've been on a few on forums lately, trying to connect with like-minded people. It's a good way to share information on any subject that you could ever think about. Todays quote comes from a contributer who remained nameless.
"Positive thoughts (joy, happiness, fulfillment, achievement, worthiness) have positive results (enthusiasm, calm, well-being, ease, energy, love). Negative thoughts (judgment, unworthiness, mistrust, resentment, fear) produce negative results (tension, anxiety, alienation, anger, fatigue)."
-- Peter McWilliams
It's important to keep your thoughts in check. It is a hard thing to do because we have so many thoughts shooting in and out of our minds all the time. One way to keep our thoughts in check is to stay in the "attitude of gratitude." By being thankful, you will breed positive thoughts. Your thoughts will be full of joy, happiness, fulfillment, achievement, and worthiness.
Negative thoughts not only hurts the mind but also hurts your physical body. Worrying has been proven to impede natural body function. People stress themselves out. Their blood pressure rises. Your overall well-being is jeopardized. You can also hurt the people around you. No one wants to be around a complainer. Complainers like other complainers. Don't fuel such conversation. These "bad vibes" are very contagious.
So focus on the positive, be thankful for what you have, and spread love to others.
Thanks for listening.

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. The quote of the day is more of a thought I was having the other day. I was contemplating the measure of what I thought success for me would be.
"A person can have all the money in the world but..."
Everyone wants to be successful. Success, of course, is not always about how much money you have. It can also be measured by the quality of your relationships, health and fitness, and overall mental well-being. Let's look at these three area.
A person can have all the money in the world but...have the worst relationships. Often in society we see millionaires getting married and divorced all the time. Sometimes having 3 or 4 marriages. Look at the entertainment business. Money shouldn't be the reason you get into a relationship. What happens when the money's gone or that person doesn't want to share it with you anymore. Without the money, for these people, there's no relationship.
A person can have all the money in the world but...have major health problems. It is common to see top level executives that end up having heart problems. They put too much stress on themselves, always thinking about their company and much money it is bringing in. Unfortunately people are having heart attacks at a younger and younger age. A balance is necessary or else you will burn yourself out.
A person can have all the money in the word but...not be mentally stable. Someone who has a lot of money may begin to become a little paranoid. They may think that someone is trying to take their money and are always looking over their shoulder. Or if someone suddenly loses a fortune, they don't know hot to react because they have become used to a certain lifestyle. It's always sad when you here about people committing suicide when the stock market crashes. Their priorities are in the wrong place.
Strive for success in all aspects of life. True wealth is attained when you are aligned with the Universe in Mind, Body, and Spirit. Once this happens, "Impossible Is Nothing."

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. I don't have a quote today. Instead I would like to share this youtube video that I saw the other day. It has become very popular.
This is the most amazing display of a family bond. All of us should take a lesson from this video. We need to appreciate the family that we do have. If you don't have any family, appreciate the friends that you have.
Cherish their company. Compliment them. Treat them as you would want to be treated. Our existence in these mortals bodies are short. Don't waste it quarreling over issues that aren't important. Enjoy the video.

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. Our quote of the day comes from a good friend of mine Lando. I encourage all of you to send in quotes that you like and tell me what they mean to you in your own words. Plus you'll be helping me out. I appreciate all the help I can get in finding quotes.
"Life is like a life raft...Hope you can swim when it flips over."
At first read it seems like a funny sarcastic quote. As you begin to think about it, understanding this quote is crucial to our whole existence.
So many of us live our life on a "life raft." The life raft is our "comfort zone." Most people live for the moment. They focus on what's happening now without any regard for the future. But what about when there's a bump in the road. What if something tragic happens. What then?
As we discussed before, the measure of a persons character is how one reacts when their back is against the wall(See The Power of Attitude. Saturday, August 18th). A lot of people panic when they lose their possessions or money. All of a sudden a huge obstacle is thrown in front of them and the natural response is to worry. What am I going to do? How am I going to make this payment? Why is this happening? One way to ensure that we react in and appropriate manner is to be prepared. We have to know how to swim when life flips us over.
It all starts in the mind. Our thoughts shape our future. If you think negatively, everything will follow suit. The easiest thing to do when faced with obstacles is to do nothing. Retreat is so much easier. It is important that you don't resist your situation either. The more you resist something the more it persist. The reason is because you are thinking about it too much. Remember your thoughts fuel your existence, so when you think about the negative more of that stays around.
We must prepare our mind for success, for love, for peace, for harmony. If you put yourself into this mind frame(thought frame), you can create whatever you want. By putting yourself in a positive place you will not fall off the raft as often. Your goal should be to be rid a of the life raft all together. When we are properly aligned with the Universe, a raft is no longer necessary. Life will never flip you over.
Thanks for Listening

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. I know I said I would be away for a couple of days, but...I came across a very clever quote. I hope you can do some simple arithmetic.
"If a=1%, b=2%, c=3%, etc., what does 'attitude' add up to"?
Work it out?
Okay the answer is 100%.
I actually did the math to make sure that it did add up to 100%. As we have discussed before, ones "attitude" can be very powerful in how an individual reacts in certain situations(See, The Power Of Attitude, Saturday, August 18th). It is important to take control of your attitude from the start of the day. How you begin your day can dictate whether you fail or are successful.
Here are three ways, upon awakening, that you can ensure that you go into your day fully charged.
1. Write down three things that you are thankful for.
When you write down what you are thankful for it puts you into a good mood. You will find yourself reminiscing about good times and good friends. Sometimes we need to stop and look at what we have rather than what we don't have. Being thankful is also a motivator. You will remember the good feelings you had when you were successful in the past and it will be natural to want to have those good feelings again.
2. As you sit on the side of your bed, rub your hands together as if plotting a master plan.
The master plan is the map of your life. The good thing is that map can lead to anything that you want. In the old black and white villain movies, they would show the bad guy rubbing his hands together in a sinister way, plotting how he was going to get it "all." The "all" being the loot. You need to be the same way. You will be plotting your future, getting the "all" that you desire.
3. Compliment the first person you meet.
This a good way to share "good feelings." More than likely, the person you compliment will be compelled and want to return the gesture. Everyone should practice this relentlessly. People love when you notice them. By paying someone a compliment you brighten up their day, boost their confidence, and in a sense make them a better person. They will remember this and when you need it the most, and are not expecting it, you may receive a gift from that person.
Having an 100% positive attitude brings you closer to all your dreams. If we can influence others attitudes in a positive way, we will all be better off.
Thanks, for listening

I'm going to let you think about this one. Tell me what you think in your own words. I'll be gone for a couple of days. When I get back we'll see what we have. Hopefully we'll have some responses. If not, that's okay too. At least think about it and then apply what you think to your life.
Thanks for listening
I just saw this most beautiful and inspiring presentation on how we should live our lives and how we should treat our fellow brothers and sisters. With gratitude...

Hello Friends,
Hope all is well. Todays quote really isn't a quote. It's more of an exercise to get ready for your day.
Being thankful is the beginning of good things to come. It puts you in the right mindset to receive what the Universe is wanting to give to you. As I've said before, writing down three things that you are thankful for every morning is a good starting point.
Remember this word as you prepare for your day. "GREAT"
Get Really Excited About Today.
I talked about Pat Croce, former NBA franchise owner in a prior article. When he got up in the morning he would put his feet on the floor and rub his hands together saying to himself, "this is going to be a great day." He begins everyday like this because he knows that he has to get excited about his life. When you get excited about your life, exciting things happen.
When you are excited about what is to come, it is easer to go through the day, knowing that this day brings you closer to ones goals. When you start the day gloomy, the rest of the day follows suit.
So feel GREAT, and then make it a point to help someone else feel GREAT.
Thanks for listening.

Build Your ARK

Hello Friends,
Happy Labor Day. Hope all is well. Todays quote comes from a movie Evan Almighty.
"Build one ARK a day." or "Change the world with one ARK a day."
What is this ARK? In the movie, Evan is compelled by "God" to build an ark. This is not a historical story so building an ark in the present day was obviously seen as being an insane idea.
Evan is running for office and has become very selfish focusing all his energy on winning the campaign. As a result he spends less time with his family, canceling a camping trip with his sons. He does whatever it takes to win, without any concern for others feelings.
Evan prays to God for help with winning the campaign. You have to be careful what you ask God for because in due time, he always answers. God appears to Evan and tells him to build an ark. Evan tries to dodge the situation but all of a sudden two of each animal start to follow him whenever he goes. He starts growing facial hair like the biblical Noah. It is impossible to continue his campaign under these circumstances.
Evan now has no choice but to build the ark. Everyone comes around to make fun of him. No one thinks that it will rain. They call him a fool. He's lost support for his campaign.
In all of this he gets to spend more time with his family while they build the ark. His mindset begins to change from being selfish to one giving. Finally it starts to rain, but quickly stops and the ridicule from his neighbors and the media grows. As it turns out, the dam above the city was faulty and breaks open. The city was flooded but because Evan showed a little faith, he was able to save his family, the animals and the people that got on the boat.
At the end of the movie, Evan and God are talking and Evan is still a little confused as to the lesson he was supposed to learn. God tells him that in order to change the world all you have to do is build one Act of Random Kindness. As you can see this is the ARK that God wanted Evan to build.
If we subscribe to this belief, we can do a lot of good. It's not hard to do this. A simple hello to a stranger. A compliment to a friend. A quarter to homeless person. Random kindness is contagious. A random act is unpredictable, so when someone receives kindness from someone unexpectantly, it is so much more powerful. The tendency is for that person to pass along that random act of kindness as well. Remember as we talked about before, when you give that person feels good and so do you as the giver.
So remember... One ARK a day makes the world a better place.
Thanks for listening.
