Swimming Lessons?

Hello Friends,

Hope all is well. Our quote of the day comes from a good friend of mine Lando. I encourage all of you to send in quotes that you like and tell me what they mean to you in your own words. Plus you'll be helping me out. I appreciate all the help I can get in finding quotes.

"Life is like a life raft...Hope you can swim when it flips over."

At first read it seems like a funny sarcastic quote. As you begin to think about it, understanding this quote is crucial to our whole existence.

So many of us live our life on a "life raft." The life raft is our "comfort zone." Most people live for the moment. They focus on what's happening now without any regard for the future. But what about when there's a bump in the road. What if something tragic happens. What then?

As we discussed before, the measure of a persons character is how one reacts when their back is against the wall(See The Power of Attitude. Saturday, August 18th). A lot of people panic when they lose their possessions or money. All of a sudden a huge obstacle is thrown in front of them and the natural response is to worry. What am I going to do? How am I going to make this payment? Why is this happening? One way to ensure that we react in and appropriate manner is to be prepared. We have to know how to swim when life flips us over.

It all starts in the mind. Our thoughts shape our future. If you think negatively, everything will follow suit. The easiest thing to do when faced with obstacles is to do nothing. Retreat is so much easier. It is important that you don't resist your situation either. The more you resist something the more it persist. The reason is because you are thinking about it too much. Remember your thoughts fuel your existence, so when you think about the negative more of that stays around.

We must prepare our mind for success, for love, for peace, for harmony. If you put yourself into this mind frame(thought frame), you can create whatever you want. By putting yourself in a positive place you will not fall off the raft as often. Your goal should be to be rid a of the life raft all together. When we are properly aligned with the Universe, a raft is no longer necessary. Life will never flip you over.

Thanks for Listening

It is better to be quiet and be thought of as a fool than to open up your mouth and remove all doubt.

I can't help but say my saying and be called a fool... Holding my sayings inside of me would be tantamount to spiritual treason...
